Description

We are looking for an experienced Lab Technician to work at our road construction project sites in Chhattisgarh. The candidate will be responsible for conducting construction material testing, maintaining laboratory records, and supporting the QA/QC team in ensuring that all materials and construction activities comply with approved specifications and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory and field tests for construction materials as per applicable specifications and standards.
• Carry out testing of soil, aggregate, cement, bitumen, concrete, and other construction materials.
• Perform tests related to road construction and pavement works as instructed by the QA/QC Engineer.
• Conduct field density tests and other required field quality tests.
• Assist in testing of bituminous materials and asphalt mix as per project requirements.
• Maintain proper records of laboratory test results, observations, and test reports.
• Ensure proper sampling, identification, storage, and handling of test samples.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure that testing instruments are clean and properly maintained.
• Assist in calibration and verification of laboratory and field testing equipment.
• Immediately report test results that do not comply with project specifications to the QA/QC Engineer.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers, QA/QC Engineers, and construction teams for required testing.
• Maintain laboratory registers, test formats, material records, and quality documentation.
• Ensure testing activities are carried out safely and in accordance with approved procedures.
• Support the QA/QC team during inspections, audits, and quality-related activities.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Good knowledge of construction material testing and road construction laboratory procedures.
• Knowledge of soil, aggregate, concrete, cement, and bitumen testing.
• Understanding of field density and pavement-related quality tests.
• Ability to operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment.
• Good knowledge of maintaining laboratory records and test reports.
• Ability to follow testing procedures, specifications, and quality standards.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work at construction sites and project laboratories.

Eligibility

• Qualification: Any Civil Degree / Diploma
• Experience: Minimum 3+ Years in Road Construction
• Relevant Experience: Experience in Highway / Road Construction Laboratory preferred
